Mr. Gerald Eugene Register, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 in the chapel at Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Thursday prior to the services at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Chuck Hester, Steve Register, Ronnie McCurdy, Joey Walker, Arlie Walker and Jimmy Dunlap will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Register was born in Irwin County on December 4, 1940 to the late Walter J. Register and Agnes NeSmith Register. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Register.
Mr. Register had lived all of his life on the same farm in Irwin County. He became a Christian very early in life so his church and his Lord were very important to him. He loved cats and had many. He enjoyed watching television, especially "Jeopardy." Mr. Register loved his family and enjoyed attending family reunions. He also was a country music fan.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Mary Register of Chula; and a niece and nephew-in-law, Angie and Jimmy Dunlap of Chula; a niece Jenny Sutton of Chula and a niece, Kristi Register of Chula. Mr. Register is also survived by two great nieces, Kari & Jeremy Chambers and Belle Register; one great nephew, Justin Sutton; and one great-great niece Jadyn Chambers.
