Mrs. Mary Jane Fender, 90, of Tifton, Georgia, passed away on Friday, August 17, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton. She was born in Berrien County on March 28, 1928 to the late Benjamin and Martha Christian Hancock Bennett. Mrs. Fender lived in Lenox, Georgia most of her life where she was a homemaker and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.
Mrs. Fender is survived by her son, Wayne Fender of Mexico Beach, Florida; five daughters and four sons-in-law: Gwenda McLamb Candell and Richard Candell of Lenox, Diane and Ed Reid of Nashville, Georgia, Debbie and Ron Edwards of Sylvester, Georgia, Martha Lynn Mills of Tifton, and Rhonda and John Perry of Lenox; eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Samuel Fender, three grandchildren, five brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening, August 19, 2018 from 6 until 8 PM at Boone Funeral Home North (202 N. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel). The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Lenox Christian Fellowship Church in Lenox with Rev. Jimmie Hinson officiating. Interment will follow at Lenox City Cemetery.
