MOULTRIE, GA.- William Hollis Bill Peacock Jr., 71, of Moultrie, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018 peacefully at his home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Albritton officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Casketbearers will be Richard Jones, Michael Patterson, Felton Peacock, Mark Williamson, Joey Bozeman and Larry Hall. Honorary casketbearers will be members of Colquitt Regional Hospice. Born January 5, 1947 in Tifton, he was the son of the late William Hollis Peacock Sr. and Nelma Sylene Ashmore Peacock. Mr. Peacock was the owner of Peacock Construction Ltd. He loved his family very much and working in the outdoors. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnamese Campaign Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge and the Purple Heart. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Peacock; in-laws, Jewell and Johnnie Cooper; brother in law, Gary Cooper. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Cooper Peacock of Moultrie; daughter, Lori Peacock Sadler of Tifton; step-son, Stephen Reynolds and Julie of Doerun; grandson, Luke Sadler of Tifton; step-grandsons, Will Pollard of Moultrie, Brandon Reynolds of Doerun; sister, Mary Ann Ethridge and Larry of Tifton; brothers, Gary Peacock of Jacksonville, FL., Noel Peacock and Sharon of TN.; several nieces and nephews; special nieces Haley Ethridge, Hannah Ethridge both of Tifton and his furry friend, Maggie. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM-2:00PM Sunday at Cobb Funeral Chapel. Cobb Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
