Barbara Camp Obituary

Barbara Marchant Camp, 84, of Carrabelle, Florida, formerly of Tifton, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025, at her residence.

Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Kenny Kicklighter officiating. Mrs. Camp was laid to rest at First Baptist Church Ty Ty Cemetery.

Born March 10, 1940, in Worth County, Mrs. Camp was the daughter of the late W. T. Marchant and Willie Yown Marchant. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Major "Ellis" Camp; and two sons, Donald Camp and James Anthony Camp.

When Mr. and Mrs. Camp moved to Carrabelle, Florida over 30 years ago, they successfully managed the Island View Inn, where they met and made lifetime friends. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was cross-stitching beautiful canvases for all of her loved ones.

Mrs. Camp is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Diane and Scott Wolcott of Ocala, Florida, Lynn and Danny Palmer of Newton, Cynthia Camp of Carrabelle, Florida and Sherry and Rocky Shiver of Sumatra, Florida; one brother, William Edward "Bill" Marchant of Steinhatcheee, Florida; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
