Betty Joyce Evans Golden, 92, of Omega passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Presbyterian Home in Quitman. Her funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Omega Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Golden was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Richard Golden, Keith McLeod, Timothy Dunn, Robert Dunn, Terry Nichols and Steve Webb served as pallbearers.

Born September 1, 1932, in Tift County, Mrs. Golden was the daughter of Eskell G. Evans and Edna Viola Dorman Evans, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, James Otis Golden; one grandson, Daniel Golden; and her brother, Robert Thomas "Tom" Evans.

She retired from Fitzgerald Underwear and enjoyed many years of gardening and being a devoted caregiver to multiple family members. She was a loving grandmother (Granny) to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Omega Baptist Church.

Mrs. Golden is survived by one son, Jerry Golden (Soon) of Huntsville, Alabama; one daughter, Peggy Tindall of Dothan, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Joyce Webb of Tifton, Georgia; five grandchildren, Christopher Golden, Danella Golden, Cathy Verbos, Heather Curry and Stephanie Golden; six great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Curry, Lisa Curry, Johnathan Curry, Ciara Golden, Audrey Golden and Annalise Leo; and two great-great-grandchildren, Emma Curry and James Curry.
