A graveside memorial service for Dr. Walter Gus Knisel, Jr., 83, of Savannah, formerly of Tifton, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tift Memorial Gardens with Dr. Hugh Ward officiating. Dr. Knisel died at his home in Savannah February 28, 2013. Among Dr. Knisel's survivors is his wife, Wilma Knisel, of Savannah. Annie Rose Shiggs, 84, of Omega died March 6, 2013 at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Simmon Grove Baptist Church with committal services to follow at Oakridge Cemetery and a repast will conclude at Simmon Grove Baptist Church Social Hall. She is survived by her children, Caroline Collier Dixon, Deloris Collier Lunsford, Glenda Collier Haliburton and Joseph Collier; brother, Lewis Brown; sisters, Alice Waters, Barbara Martin, Christine Brown and Beatrice Cushion. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Simmons Grove Baptist Church, Omega with interment to follow at Omega Cemetery. Survivors include his father, Madison C. Brown Sr. of Norman Park; four brothers, Madison C. Brown Jr., Robert Brown, William Brown and Donnell Brown; four sisters, Bernice Brown, Bertha Barfield, Letha Jackson and Ruby Roberts.
