Deaths for 1 Obituary
Tommy "Big Tommy" Bell, 58, of Tifton, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at his Dorminy Street residence. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Southern Avenue Church of God. The family will receive visitors from noon to 8 p.m. today at Melton Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn A. Bell of Hinesville; a son, Tommy Bell Jr., of Spring Valley, N.Y.; and step-daughters Vickie, Debbie, Cheryl and Denise. Melton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Minnie Lee Rice, 74, of Ray City, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Ray City. Burial will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 7 to 9 tonight at Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville. Survivors include her husband, Reva L. Rice; four sons, Wendell, Tommy, Larry and Steve; sister Iduma Smith and Vera Henderson; and a brother, Walter Permenter. Lovein Funeral Home, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
Charles Adam Schofill, 56, of Fitzgerald, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his residence. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mount Olive Cemetery in Fitzgerald. Survivors include a daughter, Amber Schofill of Fitzgerald; two brothers, William T. "Bo" Schofill of Dawson and Virgil L. Schofill of Cordele; and five sisters, Laura Mashburn and Linda Drawdy, both of Albany, Patricia White of Hogansville, Fay Chitwood and Shirley Dill, both of Ocilla. Paulk Funeral Home in Fitzgerald is in charge of arrangements.
Cuthbert "Gus" Turner Jr., 50, of Nashville, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Long Bridge Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lovein Funeral Home in Nashville. Lovein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. John Cleveland Spivey, 65, of Beaufort, S.C., formerly of Moultrie and Omega, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grays Hill Baptist Church in Beaufort. The family will receive visitors tonight from 5:30 to 7:30. The Rev. Spivey is survived by his wife, Jean Spivey of Beaufort, S.C.; his son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Eric and Marcia Spivey of Beaufort; and his daughter, Amy Spivey of Seattle, Washington. Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort is in charge of arrangements.
