Tifton, GA - Eugene Slack, Jr., 92, of Tifton passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe and the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Mr. Slack will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Mr. Slack's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the I. D. Morgan Sunday School Class of Tifton's First Baptist Church.

Born April 15, 1933, in Tift County, Mr. Slack was the son of the late Eugene Slack, Sr. and Blanche Willis Slack. He graduated from Tifton High School in 1952 and, before retiring, he worked as a lab technician for the Georgia Department of Transportation for 30+ years. He was a member of Tifton's First Baptist Church.

In his early years, Mr. Slack served as a lifeguard at Tifton's City Pool. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs fan; and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and he was a member of the Tifton Fishing Club.

Mr. Slack is survived by his wife, Patricia Fletcher Slack of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Eugene "Bo" III and Mandy Slack of Chula; one daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Tim Harper of Chula; and four grandchildren, Brint Danforth, Justin Harper, Cameron Slack and Braxton Slack.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial gifts may be made to Tifton's First Baptist Church, 404 Love Avenue, Tifton, Ga 31794; and a charity of choice.
