With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mitchell E. Goode, who left this world on February 8, 2025, at the age of 90. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend that will forever be remembered for his kindness, strength, leadership, and generosity. He was a hard worker that loved his family dearly. He looked forward to meeting his buddies every morning for coffee and one of his favorite past times was sitting out on his swing under the pecan tree listening to the birds and watching the world go by.

Born on August 7, 1934, Gene touched the lives of many. He is survived by his two sons, Patrick Goode and Chris Goode along with their wives Teri and Marsha; his grandchildren, Brad, Tiffany, Chelsea, Ali, and Will; and great-grandchildren Kyla, May, Bray, Alba, Mia, Shane Bo, Isla, and Ben. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bo Goode and two sons, Roger and Don Goode, as well as by his two brothers, Hollis and Wallace Goode and two sisters, Bonnie Johnston and Diane Berry.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13th, with visitation at 1:00pm and service at 2:00pm at Bowen-Donaldson Funeral Home to honor Gene's life and legacy. The Rev. Michael Marchant will officiate. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate the beautiful memories he leaves behind. Mr. Goode will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
