Tifton, GA - Jimmy Eric Waldrop, 54, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Clayton Dowd and the Rev. John Smith officiating. Jimmy was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Joe Falcon, Ricky Falcon, Charlie Dillard, Jeremiah Laster, Nicky Newbern and Kevin Newbern served as pallbearers. Jimmy's brothers served as honorary pallbearers.

Jimmy was born on September 12, 1971, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the son of Randall Waldrop of Ty Ty and Eliza Vann Sumner of Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James H. and Alma M. Waldrop and Oliver and Ida Mae Vann.

Jimmy was a highly talented athlete and in 1979, he broke the State Swimming Record that was set in 1960, which still stands today. Not only was he a great swimmer; he played high school baseball. At the age of eleven, he broke the Tifton homerun record and at the age of twelve, he broke the homerun record in Ocilla.

Jimmy was one of a kind and worked hard every day as a concrete finisher at the family business, Waldrop Construction Company in Tifton. He loved to work out, always stayed on the hustle and most of all, loved his girls, his family, and friends.

Jimmy lived his life to the fullest, but in the end, he surrendered it all to God, accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is survived by his step-mother, Kay Waldrop of Ty Ty; his step-father, Thomas Sumner of Fitzgerald; two daughters and one son-in-law, Devan and Blane Bosco of Ty Ty and Haeli Waldrop of Tifton; three brothers, Zach Waldrop, Alex Waldrop and Randy Waldrop, all of Ty Ty; and two grandchildren, Aria Bosco and AdaLynn Bosco.
