Tifton, GA - Joe Ogbonnaya Kalu, 61, of Tifton, GA, died on the 27th of December, 2024, in Nigeria.
He was born in December 15th, 1963 at Abiriba, Nigeria to late Mrs. Udunma Ogbonnaya Kalu (Nee Ifegwu) and late chief Ogbonnaya Ogburu Kalu.
By the Fall of 1990, he moved to Tifton to play college Basketball. He remained in Tifton to make a living. He was employed by Target at the time of his death.
Joe was divorced and had no children when he died.
He is survived by 5 brothers : Samuel Ogburu Kalu, Peter Ikwuka Kalu, Samuel Ogbonnaya Kalu, Matthew Chinedu Kalu, Stephen Okechi Kalu, Daniel Onyekachi Kalu; and 2 sisters: Christiana Eririnma Osiri, Esther Nnenne Kalu.
He was preceded in death by his parents late Mrs. Udunma Ogbonnaya Kalu and late Chief Ogbonnaya Ogburu Kalu.
He was interned on July 12, 2025 at Abiriba, Nigeria and a memorial service held on the 13th of July, 2025 in his honor.
