Joel Thomas "J.T." Carrington, 83, of Tifton, died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Saint Anne's Episcopal Church in Tifton. Father Lonnie Lacey will officiate with a private burial to be held at a later date. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Parish Hall. Mr. Carrington was born Sept. 4, 1930 in Tifton and was the son of Alison Carrington and Minnie Lee Eubanks Carrington, both deceased. He was retired from Forstman (formerly J.P. Stevens) and was a member of Saint Anne's Episcopal Church in Tifton. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. Mr. Carrington is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marian Fletcher Carrington of Tifton; two daughters, Lisa Meadows of Tifton and Judy Carrington of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Mary Carrington and Bobby and Beth Carrington, all of Albany; and three grandsons, Carrington Meadows, Andrew Meadows and Alexander Meadows. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Saint Anne's Episcopal Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 889, Tifton, GA 31793.
