Tifton, GA - Marian Fletcher Carrington, 92, of Tifton passed away peacefully at home on November 15, 2025.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 22, 2025, at Saint Anne's Episcopal Church in Tifton. Father Nathan Wilson will officiate. The family will receive guests at the Parish Hall immediately following the service.

Mrs. Carrington was born on April 24, 1933, in Irwin County. She was the daughter of James Edgar "Eddie" Fletcher and Rebecca "Becky" Fletcher, both deceased. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, of 59 years, Joel Thomas "J. T." Carrington and ten siblings. She invested 30 plus years as an educator in the Tift County School System. She touched many student's lives.

Marian was an Air Force Veteran. She was a member of the American Legion and a member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Saint Anne's Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild.

Mrs. Carrington is survived by two daughters, Lisa Carrington Meadows and her three sons, Carrington Meadows, Andrew Meadows, Alexander (Chloe) Meadows; and one great-grandson, Joel Theodore Meadows; Judy Carrington Johnson (Buddy) and their two children, Chase (Cheyenne) Johnson, their daughter, Lilah, and Jaycee (Nicholaus) Cruz and their daughter, Wrenlee.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Hospice of Tift Area for their tender, loving care of Mrs. Carrington.
