Mr. Paul Higgs, 83, of Adel passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center. Mr. Higgs was born March 13, 1933 to the late Charles Roy Higgs & Mary Lucy Sumner Higgs. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 2nd Army Division. Mr. Higgs was in the poultry business and in his later years he worked at the Agrirama in Tifton. He was a well recognized sportsman as a coon hunter and loved NASCAR racing. He attended First Baptist Church in Tifton and was a Christian man that loved Jesus. Survivors include his son, Rodney (Laura) Higgs of Lenox; grandchildren, Aaron Isdell, Charlie Higgs, Renea Higgs and Rea Higgs; one brother, Grady Higgs of Albany; two sisters, Dorothy Ross of Norman Park and Myrtice Suber of Moultrie. Mr. Higgs was preceded in death by his brother, Murray Higgs. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at Purvis Funeral Home with Dr. Stanley Hendricks officiating. Interment will follow at Lelia Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com.
