Paul  Sumner
Mr. Paul William Sumner, 82, of Lenox, Georgia passed away on April 6, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Sumner was born on January 29, 1937 in West Palm Beach, Florida to the late George Jackson Sumner and Margaret Ann Busch Sumner. He was raised in Tifton, Georgia and had lived the past 26 years in Lenox. Paul's career was in concrete construction projects all over the world with his last project being quality control for the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge in Charleston, South Carolina. He became interested in working as a pecan grower after his retirement.
Mr. Sumner is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sandra R. Sumner of Lenox; son and daughter-in-law, Rhett and Lolly Sumner of Trenton, Florida; son, Paul Sabastian Sumner of New York, New York; step-son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Ann Little of Adel, Georgia; step-daughter and son-in-law, Leigh and Scott Bennett of Hahira, Georgia; step-daughter and son-in-law, Libby and Henry Burton of Barney, Georgia; Step-son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Kaye Rountree of Lenox; sister, Ilene Sumner Ohara of Tampa, Florida; brother, Joe Tom Sumner of Moultrie, Georgia; brother, George Sumner of Tifton; sister, Anita Sumner Lee of Salisbury, North Carolina; brother, Phillip Sumner of Tifton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Dawes.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 8, 2019, in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home; 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave.; Adel, Georgia. Father Alfonzo Gutierrez and Rev. Dan Robinson will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. The family wishes to thank Brandy Moore and the staff at Comfort Keepers of South Georgia for their help with Mr. Paul's care and to Regency Southern Care Hospice Services for their assistance.
