Just that

"Concerning two Spanishes. A second language is just that. A second language. Whether it is what the Mexicans speak or not it would give our American students a better chance at having a second language."

Need Cajun cooking

"Tifton has many fine restaurants. I'm glad to say that just about all the named big restaurants of the A-1 type are now in Tifton and you can get good meals. However, many of us like Cajun food occasionally. I don't know of any place in Tifton where you can get Cajun food unless you go to Louisiana and that is a long trip just to get lunch. I wonder if there is such a place here and if he needs to advertise or if we need somebody to start a Cajun restaurant? They would do a whopping business. That's good food."

Forehead warnings?

"It's amazing we have warnings on cigarettes and now the government wants to put warnings on soft drinks. We have warnings about our sex offenders. Why don't we all just go into an array of putting warnings on people? Let's just stamp it on their foreheads and perhaps that is close to being the mark of the beast. Everything that happens, we want to put a warning on it. We want to label someone. Why don't we label our government officials?"

Put-downs

"Most all of us know that when a co-worker is putting down another co-worker, it is because they want that person's job. It's jealousy and we despise it. Those who aren't after their job aren't attacking them. Isn't that true? It is also true that those attacking the president want his job. If they worked half as hard attacking the enemy as they do the Bush administration, we would be by far a much safer nation. Now they are not interested in winning the war on terrorism, they are wanting to win an election."

No perks?

"This is in response to the Board of Education's decision to allow teachers to place their children in schools of their choice. Most teachers do this out of convenience because of bus routes. I know from experience. I am a parent who has to do this in the past. Most teachers stay and work until around 4 or 4:30 and sometimes 5:00 and if they can put their child in a school where the bus makes a drop at the school where they teach it makes it so much easier and allows the teachers to do the work that needs to be done for the children of Tift County. Teachers receive very little perks. Actually, they receive no perks. This is one thing that the Board of Education can allow teachers to do."

Thanks for bearing

"I would like to rave. I am from Atlanta and was passing through Tifton on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago. A bearing in my tag-along I pull with my motorcycle went out. I went to a local parts store close to I-75 and a salesperson referred me to BB's Automotive. They were very nice and efficient in trying to locate the part I needed to fix the problem. I very much appreciate everything you did."

Glad she's alive

"This is in reference to the 'Enigma Police Tried.' I'm sure they did the best they could with the large crowd, but I can't believe the sheriff's department or the state patrol did not respond when called. The lady is not OK. She is in the nursing home with two broken legs and other injuries. Thank the good Lord that she is alive."
