Mr. Thomas "Tommy" Walstine Johnson, 75, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Joseph Carter and Rev. Ronnie Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roger Mays officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Simmy McKeown, Paul Johnson, David Johnson, Sonny Johnson, Paul Ponder and Chad Shadle will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Kendrick, Vincent Moreno, Oliver Moreno, Jeff Sumner and the men of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church.
Mr. Johnson was born November 20, 1943 in Sparta, Georgia to the late Eddie Dewey Johnson and Thelma Hadden Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mr. Johnson was a member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church. He was very active in his church and loved his church family where he served as a Steward. He graduated from Tift County High School in 1961. He was a route salesman for Pet Dairy for twenty-eight years and self-employed as a distributor for Mac Tools for seventeen years. He was an avid sports fan and loved the outdoors. Mr. Johnson loved his family especially his grandson, Jordan.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Sandra Payne Johnson of Tifton to whom he was married for fifty-five years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly and William Moore of Ocilla and Kerri and Ronnie Duncan of Chula and his grandson Jordan Duncan of Chula.
