WARREN DELANO "BUSTER" FLETCHER, 85, beloved husband and father, passed away at his home in Georgetown on Wednesday morning November 6, 2019.
Buster grew up in the small farming community of West Green, Georgia with his five siblings. He joined the US Army where he served in the Korean War. After returning home, Buster enrolled in The University of Georgia and graduated with a pharmacy degree. Shortly after receiving his degree Buster settled in Crescent City, Florida where he began working for Mr. Joe Thomas at Thomas Drug Store. He eventually bought the drug store and out of respect for Mr. Thomas, Buster never changed the name. Many late nights he would drive to the pharmacy to fill a prescription for a patient. He along with a number of trusted business partners built a successful health care company called In Home Medical where he continued to serve not only Putnam County but the entire Southeast for decades. To honor his legacy and contributions to the local community, the city of Crescent City named a park, "Fletcher Park" after him. Buster was an active member of Howe Memorial United Methodist Church in Crescent City and was also a recipient of the Rotary Paul Harris Award and received his 50 year pin from the Masonic Lodge.
He was predeceased by his brother Robert Fletcher and sister, Jackie Childes.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of forty years, Judy Riddle Fletcher; sons, Tom (Audrey) of Lake Como, Jim (Melissa) of Ocala, Michael (Rae); daughter, Marybeth ("Skip") of Jacksonville, Woody (Deanna) of Birmingham, Alabama, Michael (Rae) of Melbourne and Joe (Jaime) Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren, Caleb, Amanda, Jillian, Michaela , Delaney Jo, Jack, Ellie James, Maggie Joe, Georgie, Kaitlin , Luke, Chase, Aiden and Seth. Great Grandchildren, Lillian, Dakota, Klhoee, and many nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Howe Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Bryan Simpson officiating. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date.
