Wilma Louise Broome Alford, 96, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Ocilla, with the Rev. Bobby Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery, Irwin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.

Mrs. Alford was born December 6, 1922, in Ware County, to the late Robert L. Broome Sr. and the late Mary Cox Broome. She was a retired inspector having worked in the apparel manufacturing business with H.R. Kaminsky & Sons from 1955 until 1975 and then with Y & W Sportswear from 1975 until 1996. She was the best mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Christian lady ever. She was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church and lived her faith well, God protect her.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Irene Alford (Ronald) McCranie of Nashville and Gail Alford Nelson of Warner Robins; grandchildren: Keith (Christi) McCranie, Kevin (Amanda) McCranie, Russell Hugh (Lisa) Nelson, III, and Lori (Steve) Elble; great-grandchildren: Arlie McCranie, Tanner McCranie, Parks McCranie, Kylie McCranie, Russell Hugh Nelson, IV, Lauren Nelson, Logan Elble, and Riley Elble; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barclay Alford; three sisters: Ila, Lizzy and Lucille; and six brothers: Johnny, Arthur, Oliver, Julian, Robert Jr., and Edward.
